Air Shock Absorbers

Do any of you know where I can obtain a set of rear air

shock absorbers for my 2002 Dodge CTD?? I know about

the "Air Lift" and "Firestone" Air Bags but I am interested

in an air shock absorber. J. C. Whitney lists them but when

I called they said they are not available for the later model

Dodges.

I want to know why you want them! I haven't seen a pair of those on the back of a vehicle since the 70's when that was how you got a "jacked up" Camaro (or Chevelle or Mustang).

I have obviously "hit a nerve" with you also! FWIW, I

have used the air shocks before and had very good luck

with them. The heavier duty versions from Gabriel have

a 2000lb. capacity and are cheaper than the "Air Lift" or

"Firestone" Airbags. As I stated above, the problem is

that most of the manafacturers don't offer them for our

later model Dodge Trucks. And,... . "true to form" for me,

coming to this site for assistance has yielded the type

of answers both of you have given; (i. e. sarcasm and

questioning why I want information on the product)!

My retort made you seem less than intelligent and for that I retract the statement. I will have to blame it on a "Senior Moment"...



TDR has thousands of good members who do and "should" have better manners. The facelessness of these forums makes it all too easy to flame behind the curtain of "can't see you".

the P. M. BTW,..... I have decided to just go ahead and

get the "Air Lift" Air Bags from "Camping World. " They

have them on sale this month.

I know the air shocks are much easier to install, but truthfully the shocks or their mounts were never intended to be weight barring. The small amount of extra effort to install a good air bag system would seem to well worth it, with respect to ride, load carrying, and control. Shocks are suppose to dampen the suspension's movement, not carry weight. It would be a shame to taint a modern day truck with such 70's hardware.

I agree with y-knot on this one. However, I think Rancho still makes the air shocks.

I have decided to go with the "Air Lift" Air Bags. I am

a member at "Camping World" and they have them

on sale this month.
