Air tabs

Anyone use the air tabs that are advertised in the TDR? If so do they really work or are they snake oil. If they are so great why dont I ever see them on the big rigs. I would think if they work the comercial rigs would all have them. Looking for input. If they work I would get some for my travel trailer.

do a search on airtabs and there are several post's on them. No i don't think they are smoke. I would have put them on my TT if i hadn't sold it.

David, Yes the tabs work. They are called by different names but they all work. There is a guy here in Alaska, in Haines that has them on his trailer and did a compaireson with and without them. I'm sure he will see this and reply.

Heres a pic I took at may Madness. It was on a shell.



He said the bugs disappeared from the front side edge of the trailer and the top, the bugs moved up 18" When solo, he said it keeps the rear window clean.

Spent some time talking to John Holmes about them at MM03. He had them on his Foretravel (which is REALLY nice, mind you ). They really seem to work- I'll know soon, I'm getting 80 of them to cover my Fifth wheel. According to John they need to be spaced properly, and an alignment tool is provided for such. Everyone I spoke with who has used them swear by them.

Average trailer will take about 66. My Fifth wheel is a block wall high profile and required more. You can also apply them to your roof mounted AC as well. They will give you the spacing tool with the tabs. In general it is about 3 per running foot. The better you can keep the spacing, the better the results. I'm looking to get mine shortly. They are also available in clear or white and could be painted if you wanted to as well.
