Anybody know anything about the air-to-water aftercooler that is available from Cummins? I am thinking of using it on my non-intercooled truck. My 6BT is not in a Dodge, and an air-to-air intercooler would be very difficult to install

I have seen many in industrial service for fire water pumps. The water cooler would make the intake about 3-4" higher than the runner that comes across on the non-intercooled models. The whole cooler fits in the intake plenum and replaces the intake plate. I don't know why someone hasn't already tried this. .

It should work!! Good luck

I have a 270 hp Cummins marine in my boat. It has the coolant intercooler that sits above the intake as was descibed.

If anyone is interested, I can measure the height of it this weekend.

I also have the parts manual... the aftercooler is listed as part #3928503. . but there are a few other parts that are needed.

If you want I can fax the pages...

Any info or measurements you could provide would be great. I sent you a "private message" over the TDR system with my fax #. I would like to get to the Cummins dealer, but I haven't found time yet. Just having the part # is going to be a help, thanks.
