Welp, I went and solved all my air needs. I ordered the kit from On Board Air. Lemme tell you, it is really slick. It is very well thought out and works like a dream. I highly recommend it.

Now I have a new dilemma. Being that I have limited space in the truck for air tools, what tools would you consider a must have. Impact, ratchet, air chuck, what? Lemme know what you think I should have as a minimum compliment of air tools.

I only carry the 450ft/lb 1/2" drive rattle gun. It's the only airtool I can't do without. Makes changing rear wheels on a dually almost bearable. :)

1/2" drive impact, tire chuck (unless you pay the bucks the ones with a gauge built in are junk) and blow gun will help with most of things you need to do on the side of the road. At home a die grinder, cutoff tool and air chisel are very handy. I probably use a blow gun more than any other air tool.

Pertaining to illflem's list of home air tools: I want to add a good quality 3/8" or 1/2" air drill. No having to wait for a motor to cool down or batteries to recharge.

ton of tools would be nice. . but space and need / amount of use are the things to limit lugging around . . suggest a 1/2" & 3/8" impact [3/8" because it s great on teardown and reassemble in the motor area. . don't need a air ratchet then] and a die grinder with a few carbide bits and mandrel with sand rolls and wire bits/burrs... for repairs. . carry extra air fittings several styles. . they are cheep [both quick disconnect and chuck] for adapting with other guys tools iff'in your "helping another"

plumb air to motor area and rear of rig with quick disconnects and have a long coil hose [15' min]

don't use the lincoln chucks air fitting ends [the long tip ones]... not usually found in normal use and would stop others from using your supply

not saying you didn't already know this. . maybe just help out others that don't have much air tool use.

I was going to use this unit also but I decided to go with the Oasis 12/24 voit portable unit . . then I can move it from my CTD to my CJ7 and attach to a 8 gal. tank that I will permanent mount in each.
