2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission airbag warning light

96 2500 Turbo Diesel

One day the Airbag warning light went on for no apparent reason. Still on 7 months later. Has gone off for a few minutes approx 3 times. Truck runs great, no problems. Any ideas?

Had similar problem. Changed clockspring and it fixed it.

After I bought my truck my light would come on then go off then it finally stayed on. Took it to the dealer and come to find out the plug came loose from the air bag on the steering wheel. They took out the two screws on the back of the wheel holding the air bag in place and pulled it out and snap the plug back in firmly. The plug has a snap to prevent it from coming loose but it was broke off from the factory. They ordered a new air bag and installed it in a few minutes. That took care of the light!!

I work in a ford dealership in the body shop. I now on a ford you can turn the key on and the light will flash, like it will flash 3 times and then pause then 3 times again and the code will be 33 and usally you can look in a manual and it will tell you what it would be. This is on fords cant remember on dodge but this might help you. Justin
