I've been messing around trying to work out the issues on my axle mounted air bag kit for two months. The kit interferes with the brake lines and in general is just not up to par with the Firestone kit I had on my 02'.

I didn't realize until today that Firestone's new Ride Rite kit now sits on the axle instead of the leaf springs. The old Firestone leaf spring kit would move around on the leaf springs if the over load springs compressed a little. I also broke the factory bolts several times until I upgraded to grade 8 bolts.

I thought I would try the Airbagit.com kit since it sounded better but the kit has been an ongoing hassle. Has anyone installed one of the new simple looking Ride Rite kits that goes over the axle instead of the leaf springs?

Not what you asked, but I installed the Pacbrake airbags on my '07+ 2500 MegCab last year with no hassles. It sits on the axle as well and has performed flawlessly since.

I installed my Ride-Rites with out any issues at all. Yea the brake line is close to the u-bolt, but no issues. Nice 'no drill' kit and the fit up was very good. My 96 has over the springs bags with custom upper mounts and it was a hassle. no problems with either set of bags (12 years on the 96 and 3 years on the 07. 5)

I installed the PacBrake air bags on my 05, easy to install, they work great, no issues at all, and it is a high quality built product.

I ordered PacBrake airbags from Mass Diesel today. Mass Diesel had the best price I could find any place. I paid $265 for my 09' 3500 dually 4x4 bags and $240 for my 06' 2500 4x2 bags. Shipping is supposed to be about $30.
