I have an idea

cleaning black tank on tt

Is anyone running airbags with the SuperSlider? The plate for the super rail kit is in the same place the airbags would bolt. thanks... If I bolt the airbags to the plate, the airbag with not be vertical. The top will be tweaked outward that 1/4".

Thats a bummer. . I have a super 5th with the super rails and there is only 2 bolts for the plate...

Maybe if you were to cut out the exact dimentions of the airbag plate out of the super rails brcket. . assuming it doesn't cut it totally in half... Then it would be good to go...

Another Idea is to find out where the bracket would go on the SR plate and cut the "L" off the Airbag bracket + the thickness of what the other plate is off the Airbag bracket and Weld it on the SR Bracket so it will stick out the same as if it was bolted to the frame...

Red-neck Engineering here. . But sometimes it works !!

JAshpaugh,

I have a 2004 (not 04. 5) Quad Cab CTD with a 16K superglide and the super rail system. For my truck, it's not exactly a rail, but a set of 4 brackets which mount to the frame. The only thing which comes up through the bed is the four mounting posts for the hitch cross-rails. I just installed a set of Firestone airbags and they went on in under two hours. They may be the easiest set of aftermarket items I ever installed.

The bags rest on the axle inboard of the springs and then replace the jounce bumper above with the bag mount. The Superglide brackets are cut out in such a way as to allow both items to fit with no interference. I couldn't believe it. The Superglide folks must have thought of it, because it just can't be a coincidence that they fit so well together.

Is this the setup you are talking about, or are you trying to do something a bit differenct?

Yeah, thats it exactly. Thanks. . I guess thats why the bracket that bolts to the frame it a weird shape. Which airbag set up do you have? Firestone makes three different models. . thanks again Can u send me a picture of the set up? if so.

The model is a 2299, the most basic model for the 2004 Dodge. You can download the instructions from their website and see how they fit. I'll send you pix from -- email address removed --
