Airbox Replacement?

The 14 cm housing may be hurting you a little, what kind of boost are you making on the 6-7% grade when your EGT's are 1350°?



Under light load the lower boost and higher EGT is normal, but you should be able to pull lower EGT's and more boost on the hills with that turbo if your fueling is the same as before.

How and why would the 14 cm housing be hurting me? Is it too big and doesn't spool up or is it too small and presents to much flow restriction?



I have only made one trip up the hills, so I don't remember exactly what the boost was. I do recall thinking it should be a lot more since the turbo wastegate is supposed to be factory set at 40 psi. I think it was around 10-12 psi.



I am gonna crawl around underneath the truck tomorrow and make sure all the boost hoses are intact and clamps tight.

The 2 sizes the PS62 comes in are 12 and 14. The 12 is more of the towing size and 14 is more of a upper rpm size. Not saying it won't work, it's just slower to spool and won't make as much boost in the low-mid range as the 12cm.

If your only making 10-12 psi pulling a 6-7% grade you have something wrong. I cruise at 65 with about 2-3 psi and can easily pull 20-30 psi on the grades (different turbo, just showing the huge change).

I would verify what your boost is and make sure everything is tight and not leaking.

I try to stay below 1200 by proper position of my right foot. I consider 1350 high.

That's reasonable. 1300* is usually considered pretty hot for a 24 valve.
