I've noticed a disturbing trend in the realm of diesel promotions: some organizations/promotors are using very popular trucks to promote their own events, and altering the look of these trucks to suit their own purposes.
It is my considered belief that it is absolutely unethical to remove a sponsor's name or image from any vehicle, especially in favor of promoting a different vendor who is paying money to that promotor.
Consider the fact that those of us who have had some success have spent tens of thousands of our own money, as have our sponsors. We choose our sponsors, we choose exactly what is promoted on our rigs, and nobody has the right to alter that for their own gain.
As a promotor or event organizer you may think you flatter us by using the image of our trucks, but really you are crossing a line that you do not have permission to cross. If you think it's okay to crap on sponsors who have participated (for years) in making these rigs the big crowd-draw they are so you can plug a vendor who has given you personally some cash, you need to rethink your ethics...
