Friends,
I actually installed the aircraft style cargo mounting system over a year ago, but didn't mention it. Yesterday I used the cargo bolt accessory to mount Yakima rack gutter mount with Yakima gutter mount towers and rack. I installed a Northern Tool Ladder Rack onto the front grill guard to support the front of my 14 foot canoe.
I can mount an aero wing, my canoe, over size long poles, etc. When I mounted the aircraft cargo system, warped the aluminum so it contoured with the roof, applied commercial adhesive to it, and screwed # 12 cone head sheetmetal screws. This is a great, inexpensive, durable, and flexible mounting system. NOTE: I measured THREE times before drilling. Also, this is PERMANENT, virtually WILL NOT come off, which is the intention. See pics:
Ready to go camping and canoeing tomorrow.
Many Cheers, Ron
