AirDog 150 Install, What to do with the Factory Return Line?

Those of you who are running an AirDog 150, what did you do with your factory return line? Plug it? Continue to use the factory return along with the AirDog return?

The airdog has its own return, the one that tees into the fuel fill hose. BUT the stock return is still activly used and is connected back into it's stock location. The factory return is used to return the unused fuel from the injectors and the HPRV valve from the fuel rail. Both returns have different functions and BOTH are used.

Got it, thanks. Just wanted to make sure. The majority of the install is done. Just have to tidy up some wiring, double check fittings and reinstall the skid plate and cross member. Had the truck running tonight. Test drive will have to wait until tomorrow.

do you still have to change the stock fuel filter at regular intervals? also, any filter better than another? or are you using stock replacement?

The instructions recommened not using the stock filter as it would be a restriction, so I did not use it.

The stock filter is not used on the return side ..... If you use the fuel can on the path from the AD to the CP3 you can remove the filter or just run new fuel line from the AD to the CP3.



Some use the OEM fuel can for the heater element and the water in fuel sensor. I ran new fuel line from the AD to my OEM fuel can and then used the OEM line from the can to the CP3. I removed the filter and have yet to ave any problems.

have a question? since i wasn't involved and have not had the time to really go over the setup, tell me: does the stock canister (original filter canister), used at all? can i, in fact take it off? dont really understand, will look at it again tonight. just wondering if the original has a function and is it possible to remove? also, any filters you would recommend using? thanks again.

I know that airdog has not reported any issues with water in fuel causing injector issues, but they filter they use is only rated for 50% free water removal and 0% emulsified water removal. The OEM filter is rated for 90% free and 90% emulsified. I personally would leave a filter in there... There are guys running 3 filters, like me, on the OE LP... if the filter isn't clogged flow shouldn't be an issue.

thats what i needed to hear. thanks, any filter that you would use? i will probably go with the oe filter, but what about the airdog? any filter out there that would be better than another? any part numbers for that? water seperator too? thanks...

Ive run mine both ways (with %WO the OEM filter) and could not tell any diff on pressure or performance.



You can get rid of the OEM canister if you want.
