I disconnected the plug at the pump and no problem. Connect it and blows the fuse. I'm going to look at the pump and hope to find some trash. I was just wondering if you can rebuild these or how much is a replacement is? I have 75K on it. Is that good or bad I don't know the average life span of these. Thanks

I think i figured it out. It looks like the seal that separates the fuel from the motor went out and let fuel in shorting out the motor. I've been trying to contact Pureflow on the phone with no luck.

Yep, that's all too common of a problem with those. I went through the same bs with an AD Raptor pump. They sent me 2 new pumps within about 18 months, the third one they said sorry bout your luck you never sent in a warranty card. I tore my Junkers apart and found one that had a good seal so I switched it over along with the bearing as the fuel had washed the original one out.

This thread is a good reminder that I need to get my butt up to my parts guy to see if he can match the seal as well as the bearing. If he can it's a simple albeit annoying fix. If he can't, the next time my seal goes I'm ditching my Air Dog for something else. If you cant get your pump warrantied I would seriously consider buying a different pump. This has been a problem for more than a few years and I'm not sure that they've corrected the issues.

I saw that the AD2-4G has fixed the problem. They've separated the motor from the pump so if the seal leaks it will leak to the outside. I have found the bearing on Amazon and I'm still trying to find the seal.

Are the pump updates on their website? That's good to know, but at this point I have very little faith in AD. This seal was an ongoing problem for years. Why it took so long to fix the problem is beyond me.

Let me know what you find on the seal. I can check with my parts guy on Monday, he has a real knack for finding stuff that "doesn't exist". ;)

update....

I contacted Airdog and told what happened and they sent me a new pump. The new on is quieter than the original motor and pump. I am very happy with their customer service.
