Hi,

I'm installing a AirDog 150 on my 1995 3500. I understand that there is an overflow valve in the return line from the injection pump. I'm planning on using an aftermarket aluminum fuel tank instead of stock. So I will have a return line coming from the AirDog pump/filter and a return line from the injection pump and injector bled. I have four questions...

Can I use a aftermarket fuel pressure regulator in place of the overflow valve?

I have been searching and thought that I read that the overflow valve starts to open at 30 psi. Does that sound right?

Is the overflow valve located on top of the banjo fitting where the return line comes out of the injection pump or is it on top of the filter assembly?

Is it o. k. to tee the return line from the injection pump/injectors to the AirDog return before going back to the tank?

Thank-you in advance for any input that anyone can offer.

with fass, the internal regulator in the pump itself will act funky if you use a bypass type regulator. Im pretty airdog is similar. You got the location right on the overflow. Its right near the head on the side closest to the engine. 20-30 psi is about right for the pop off pressure on it also. With my aeromotive fuel pump setup, my return line for the injectors is plumbed into the return line going from the injection pump to the tank. no problems there.

Yes you can run a regulated return but probably not with the air dog. ? Not sure but would probably not get enough pressure at the pump that way. I have 1/2" lines from my riser to a Walbro on the frame rail, and then to a pair of filter heads with a W/S and Fuel filter. Then to my Injection pump, out the other side, no overflow, to a aftermkt regulator mounted on the intake. The P-pump loves pressure. As mine is daily driven I run 38psi. Factory with the overflow can vary from low 20s to mid 30s. With the air dog having a return on the pump I do not think a regulated return will work.
