I didn't prime my FASS, just plumbed it all in, hooked up the wire and bumped the starter to run the pump. It primed itself in about 5 seconds and had pressure.
The way i did it was crackin the line behind the fuel canister on the motor and loosening both filters on the fass. then i gave it a bump ran down to the filters on the fass and close them as they start filling up then run up to the canister on the motor and close the fitting as it starts spurting. worked great for me... .
I would think if you placed a few drops of engine oil into the inlet fitting on the pump this will lubricate, seal the pump parts and cause it to pull a low pressure area without any trouble. I have done this with many liquid style pumps in the past.
