My carter lift pump that I move to the frame gave out. I have the big line kit going back up the the engine and I was getting about 13 psi at idle. (this set up lasted about 1. 5 years) It would drop down to 7-9 when I got into it hard. the other day I started it up and happened to look down and it was under 5 psi and kinda going up and down. not good. I installed a airtex pump now I have 15-17 psi at idle and it does not get under 10. The other nice thing this pump is almost silent. time will tell how this pump will hold up. fuel psi gage saved the day again!!

I took the stock in tank lift pump from my 06 and put it in my wife's Jeep. :-laf Works great. It wasn't worth a darn at pushing fuel thru my 2 filters on the 06, so I have a Raptor now and boy is that thing loud. I bet the in tank pump will do well for a long time in your 2nd gen. The frame rail Carter on my 2nd didn't last but a few months. FASS took care of it.

Don't know if you want to hear this or not but take it for what it's worth, my experience only. My first Airtex lasted 80K, 2nd - 10K, 3rd - 12K, my 4th has 13K on it so far and is holding good pressure (18psi idle and won't pull below 12psi). Why do I stay with Airtex? The local parts store replaces them with no questions asked and I can't afford the higher end pumps. If you don't have one now get a fuel pressure gauge so you can keeps tabs on it. I run two so I can tell if it's a pump or filter, overkill maybe but is worth it for my peace of mind. Good luck!!! Jeff

Ohh. . I thought you where talking about the Airtex that is the stock in-tank pump on the later trucks.
