More than likely forever. Only exception is the new ones with the snap ring failure, but once corrected that should also be forever transmissions.

Actually 19-23 but 19-21 only involves replacement transmissions. Most seem to be 22's and some early built 23.

Is the wheel stud recall a gimmick?

The software updates and be a good thing. Kind of depends on the reason for the update. If you are happy with the shifting it isn't a big deal skipping them. Wheel stud recall is in case someone has over tightened them using the incorrect spec. If you are the one that has done all the work it should also be one you can pass on. But there is no reason to not have it done.

EXACTLY, figured I would see if anyone remembered my fiasco. I knew you would Stan.

For those that don't know I had a small leak more like seeping between the front and rear sections. It was fixed but by not standing it on end it had a catastrophic failure. One covid month later I was back on my venture to SoCal for the winter.

The fact that it is the only auto offered in the Cab/Chassis since '07.5 says a lot. Granted, the engine is detuned but duty cycle is way up there.

If I recall, when they first came out the warranty period was like, 250k or some such?

FYI, the go/no go gauge for checking the wheel studs is a U shape tool with an inside dimension of 0.520". If the gauge slips over the stud it has stretched and must be replaced. If you had a caliper you could check it yourself as long as you used the throat of the caliper and not the ends where the tool could measure the bottom of the threads. You want to measure the stud below the threads as well as the threaded area. Or just let the dealer do it.

Thanks everyone for the advice, the writer says the truck can't leave if there are bad one and could be up to a week to get. I called and talked to service dept he says he can have them next day. Thanks Sag for your knowledge on the subject.

My buddy I used to hot shot with and still go to church with has around 375,000 miles on his 2015 Aisin. He has been very good about his service service intervals. He only used it heavy towing for 2-3 years. Now he just tows his 3 slant horse trailer with it. Truck deleted about 5 years ago and runs it on a low power setting but still above stock power.

Daughter drives our 97 4-runner bought new, pushing 300,000 miles and we bought another 97 a few years ago for an off road desert rig, close to 200,000 on that one, neither transmission ever had anything but fluid/filter changes. I asked one of the Toyota mechanics once how often they saw problems on their Aisin transmissions. He said almost never. Different from an HD truck for sure, but I towed my fishing boat with the 1st one for many years, Aisin seems like a very robust brand near as I can tell.

the "new" proper torque value is 129 ft. lbs....that is why you needed studs replaced
