Aisin software

I was at the dealership yesterday and was asking f they had anyone come to them about the shudder shifting between 2-3 gear. They told me no, however there is a software update for the transmission that came out about 10 months ago. I asked what it did for the transmission and they could not give me any information they just new it was an update. Has anyone here done the update? Or does anyone know what the update does?

Always get the latest tcm and pcm software. My 18 Aisin has received two tcm software updates and one pcm so far. The pcm also included some Aisin updates.

Does anyone know if there is a newer version software flash? I towed this weekend into the NC mountains for the first time with my 20' pulling my 16k 5er and overall I am happy with the trans, freeway speeds it was awesome, 65-75 TH mode EB all worked well, used the ERS and EB on the 8% grade, pulled up / down in 4th no issues... My question is there seems to be a shudder / vibration in 1st (maybe second also) off stop lights and a firm 2-3 shift that I have not noticed towing my GN trailer or other trailers. I assumed it was up to date when I took delivery 12/14/20, but not completely sure as that is what they told me. Am I being a hypochondriac here, or should I have something checked out. I also noticed empty the 2-1 / 1-2 shift on gravel at the campsite (empty) seemed to spin the tire(s) a little but maybe I am being sensitive after reading all the threads here....

(EDIT) I have 5600mi on it now... towed heavy for the first time (more than the typical 6~8k behind the truck)

The 1-2 shudder is common.

Look up your truck on https://www.nhtsa.gov/ for recalls and manufacturer communications. Manufacturer communications is where the TSB's are listed.
