IAT Clean and changed Thermostat
Today removed and cleaned IAT I have 43,000 and use a Jacobs exhaust break almost all the time. It was black and dirty with oil/carbon. Did not look like it was that bad. Also put in 180 degree thermostat and flushed and filled Shell Rotella ELC. Temp is lower as expected but even though I used a Thermostat from from Cummin's the temp still overshoots then drops below normal then settles out around 180. Don't know what part of the change did it put my tach settled down as it used to jump around about 50 rpm now rock solid. I like using exhaust break even though not towing. Guess will have to limit it's use. Ought to have better a place to locate the IAT!!!!
