Is there a newer or better alarm from DEI products?

I had the 791 on an '03 CTD. After 1 year (out of warrantee of course), the entire system gradually died. I personally will never put another bi-directional on my truck. I will go with the one-way... less expensive and less to break.....

I've heard good things about compustar. I think they are the only one designed to use with a manual transmission if you wanted to use the remote start feature.

I have no problem with Viper (my wife has a 550w/remote start on her Dakota), I just don't like the bi-directional... . any of them. I would go with the Viper 560 XV, but, I don't think the remote start works with a manual transmission.
