South Bend Clutch/ GLTDR Luncheon-BOMBing party

Placerville Ca truck pulls sept 2002

Just wanted to let everyone know that the first meeting of the very informal Alaska BOMBERS will be at the end of Sept. , probably on the 29th. The location has yet to be determined but we are working on it. If you all know anyone who is interested send me an email and I will send the details when I figure them out. Untill then... happy bombing.

I hadn't seen anything new on this one, so I thought I'd post a quick reply.

I'd love to get together with some people up here.

Mike

Midnite - I just got back in town and was going to post later today about it. I still really have no details other than I think it should be on the 30th somewhere in Anchorage. Do you have any opnion. I think I (we) need to let everyone know asap.

The 30th sounds great--that's far enough away that people coming from the valley and farther can plan for it.

Awhile back I'd suggested Elmer's as a location, but there's lots of other good places too. The Moose's Tooth has great beer and pizza, but it's usually pretty crowded.

Mike

I just got back from moose hunting and I was hoping that I would see something here about a

get together. Let me know about time and location,

I plan on coming.

JR2's been a little busy lately, so he asked me in a private message to get the word out as far as time and location. My apologies for the short notice. If you know anyone else that might be interested, by all means pass the word on to them!

Unless anyone has any major objections, let's plan on Sunday, 9/30, 6pm at Elmer's (corner of Fireweed and New Seward Hwy).

Look for my 1st gen truck (2 tone gray with black shell--see sig for pictures). It'll be nice to finally meet you guys in person!

Mike

Well sorry guys, I guess I should have looked to seen that midnight posted here. So lets go with midnights plan and I will send out a new email.

See you all at elmers... ... . I have the big green smoke machine. .

meet

AS much as I would like to attend, I won't make it this time. The ferry for Cordova-Valdez-Whittier is being used for a Dutch Harbor trip and will be gone for approx 3 weeks. Hopefully I will make it next time!!!

Speedo, I have a 24' inclosed vehicle hauler for sale, it is parked at the old intersection in Wasilla on a friends property, if you know anyone that might be interested???

Thanks ,, Bob

Yeah--we had 6 or 7 trucks show up (JR2 sent a cloud of smoke over the parking lot when he arrived), and it was a lot of fun! Personally, it was my first opportunity to see the engine compartment of a 2nd gen truck firsthand. Dang they're small! :D

I think a couple of people snapped a few pictures, but I'm not sure. I didn't even think to bring my camera. Unfortunately I had to take off a little early, but just before I left there was some talk about getting together next month, maybe at someone's house.

Mike

Oh I smoked them good when I drove past the parking lot... . it was a thing of beauty. Too bad I did not wait just a little while I could have go the whole group instead of just three of them.

I got some pictures, but I did not get a chance to get them on the net prior to coming back to work. I will do it later this month and post em here.

I believe we had seven trucks, 6 24 valves and one lone 12v'er.

As for our next meeting I have no idea. We kind of all wondered off with out setting anything up. I am a little unsure of when I will be in town, but by all means you all should get together. Isn't there an Alaskan member with a huge garage?

I've got a 1,000 sq. ft. shop with cable and a refrigerator (beer cooler). We could get together

at my place for a future injector install or... .

You guys want to get together sometime in November? Speedo, if it still works for you to meet at your place, that definitely sounds like the way to go! :D

I was thinking that it might be difficult for some of us to do something in December during the holidays, so I'm thinking it would be best to do it either next month or we might need to wait until late January.

What do you guys think?

Mike

Nov. get together....

I should have the rest of the major projects out

of the shop this weekend so I'll have room. Any projects? Maybe some injectors?

I've got a set of injectors that I've been wanting to install in my '92, but I was hoping to get my gauges in first. Unfortunately they were backordered and I still don't have them yet. I think I'll be fine without gauges, at least until spring.

Mike

Is this an "any TDR members in Alaska meeting" or do you guys have a special little clique thing going here?:)

Lars - Welcome to the TDR!!! No anyone who wants to come by is more than welcome. I have no idea when the next meeting will be at this time, but when I or someone else figures it out it will be posted here.

By the way, is your truck blue with dark tinted windows and fairly good sized tires?? If it is I saw you driving on on Tudor this evening.

JR2

Well, what do you guys think about getting together either Sat. , 11/17, or possibly Sat, 12/1? Speedo, what would work best for you?

I'm not at all picky about the date, so if anyone else wants to throw any suggestions out here, by all means do so.
