Subject: Bear story

The following pictures are of a guy who works for the forest service in Alaska.

He was out deer hunting. A large... large world record Griz charged him from about 50 yards away.

The guy unloaded a 7mm Mag Semi-auto into the bear and it dropped a few feet from him. The thing was still alive so he reloaded and capped it in the head. It was over one thousand six hundred pounds, 12'6" high at the shoulder.

It's a world record. The bear had killed a couple of other people.

Of course, the game department did not let him keep it.

Think about it. This thing on it's hind legs could walk up to the average single story house and could look on the roof at eye level.

I would need clean underwear after this.

Bear story

I've read about this some time ago and I guess this really did happen. Can't remember for sure where I saw it,thinks it was on a fishing site. After reading the many posts,I was convinced. jps

It's a true Bear. The pictures are not doctored. I don't know where you got your information but the kid doesn't work for "fish and feathers", he is in the Air Force stationed at EAFB here in Anchorage.

All I can say about this deal Cliff is this,,Its a real good thing something like this did not trip across you while you were up in the Great White North hunting or the front wheel you messed up would not have been the only thing broken,,Somehow with the size of that animal you'd never fit it in the bed of your truck either. .

Yes that story is true, the airman is stationed at Eielson AFB. The bear measured between 10. 5-11. 5 from tip of the tail to the tip of the snout. Then measure the length of the legs and the bear was somewhere around 13 to 15 tall. Weighed somewhere between 1200 to 1600 lbs. estimated. Have a friend that works for fin and fur in Fairbanks and knows about the insident.
