Competition Alaska Drag Racing Schedule Released

Attention all Alaska Drag Racers (and anyone else who might be up here this summer and wants to run). Alaska Raceway Park has released there 2005 schedule and true to the owners word there are 3 Truck only nights. The link to the schedule is at the top of the page. Lets try to have a good showing, I know there are a few Fast fords that will be showing up. If enought diesels show up maybe he will do an all diesel night for us in 2006.

Awesome!!!! I sent something to them about becoming a member track. I will call today and follow up. That would mean more support and 5 races if they signed on with us!

Cool... . and the twins are sitting on the workbench :-laf . I may post this on the Ford and Chevy forums as it gets closer to drum up more attendance. Not a very good showing last year.

Hey AK Ram, did you know we have a small TDR group in the Anchorage area?? I would love to see your truck. You will be the fastest dodge with your twins, assuming you have some big injectors to add to your profile?? I only know of one other truck with twins and its in bad shape and will not run for quite a while.

Yeah, I know. I work with "Double J" and he is constantly badgering me. I'm pretty active with DTR, just don't hang out over here that much.



Your trucks are a good bit lighter than this tank I'm driving. Factor in my weight, tall rear end and 315 tires, and I'll likely need 550rwhp to better your 13. 95. We shall see. It will be fun.

THe video I took turned out fairly good. I got a new computer last month and its fully capable of sucking the digital video off my camera. As soon as I get some time I am going to dump all the drag racing to the computer and burn a couple of DVD's.



AK RAM,

I think you will be suprised, my truck weighed 7600 at the dump a couple of days after I raced. I have a big heavy fiberglass shell and when I raced I had a full tank of fuel. I plan on loosing the shell and running it on empty the next time I go out. I also hope to have some different injectors, but we will have to wait and see on that.

I should be able to hit 500rwhp on stock injectors once the twins go on. It is amazing what some are seeing stacking two boxes on these 3rd Gens when the air is there. Jeff at Advance Diesel (although not too bright) is suppose to have his new shop, complete with dyno, open for business in June, so we will finally have a dyno up here to see exactly where we are at. Gonna be a good summer.



Double J is wimping out. Says he is not going to run this year for fear of breaking something and lack of funds. We will have to work on him on that one. I think he just doesn't want to get whooped in front of everyone…. again

I say I won't run now because my truck is down but I'm sure when the time gets closer I'll change my mind and take it down the strip a few times.

JR2, I am doing good but am missing the money that I made there. I am going to dyno my truck @ Suncoast this weekend . Is there any way that you can send me one of those DVD's when you get them done 'cuz I want one especially if my truck is in it too.

I got the video onto my computer the other day. I tried to burn a DVD and had some problems. I will get it together some day and I will send you a copy. Let me know what your truck dyno's, it would be intersting to know.

I dyno'ed it and on level five I got 350hp/802 tq. We also tried it in level nine and it fell on its face pulling only 398hp. The dyno lost the signal from the tach pickup so no torque on nine. I need a pusher pump and a bigger turbo!

Just a bump to the top for all the Alaskan's out there. The track is open and its time to get out there.



Here are the dates for June:

Wednesday, June 15th Test and Tune

Wednesday, June 22nd Truck Performance Night



If you can only make one, go race on the 22nd. The owner is considering DHRA membership and wants to see the diesels make a show before he commits.



In addition keep your eyes on the events forum for AK. I am planning a meeting in June.
