Got some work done at Albany Chrysler today. Had a wicked case of launch shudder that got insanely bad the last week or so. Had one u-joint that I could see was bad and the hanger assembly was bad too. They replaced two joints and the hanger assembly. The middle joint I knew was bad, but what surprised me was the rear joint. The one they took out was a Precision 351 that I put in a mere 9-10K ago. I'm figuring that the nasty vibe from the bad hanger is what took out the rear joint. I willingly paid the $100 deductible. After all was said and done I was discussing it with the tech and that's when I found out the 2nd joint was the one I put in. Service writer didn't even blink at it. I know the first one should have been covered had I wanted a greaseless joint in, but I'm kinda surprised they didn't moan and groan about it nonetheless.

The best part is the hanger seems to have cured, well at least 90% cured, the launch shudder that I've had since new. I'll know by Sat. when I put a load behind, but for now it's tons better. I was getting to the point of having them change the pinion angle to see what that would do.

Took the truck for a test ride with the service manager. He looked at the Attitude velcro'd to my cubby hole and all he did was ask questions about it. No snide remarks or anything. Didn't even think about denying warranty because of it. Good dealers/service stations are hard to find, but I think I found one.

Thanks again Albany Chrysler. :D

Good dealerships and mod friendly dealerships on top of that are few and far between.

Good for you and your part of the country!!!!! :D

I started looking for a 03' gasser 1500 for the wife. These guys have one like I want . guess I better go see them. Not that far away, and good dealers are hard to find. Larry.
