My 2014 follows the road crown really bad. Could this be something to do with caster or toe in. I have never had a truck drive like this. Dealership is 50 miles away. I am thinking about taking it to Firestone. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am having a little different problem with my 14. It is not correcting itself when coming out of a turn so I have to steer it in and out of turns. Need to go to the dealer but was already told that wheel alignment is only under warranty for 12,000 or one year. So if yours is alignment you should go local. Yours tires should show some adverse wear if it's alignment.

I was having both problems the first two posters mentioned and irregular tire wear on my '14. It was bad enough that my wife wouldn't drive the truck. I brought the truck to Firestone for an alignment. I was out of factory specs on everything. Truck handles much better now.

If you didn't know, Firestone offers a lifetime alignment for $184, it used to be $150. I've purchased this for my last five vehicles. Bring them in every 6 months, no questions asked.

Caster is the forward/rearward angle of the kingpin (or imaginary kink pin) and is not a wear angle. The two main wear angles are camber and toe. Some of the luxury brands (Mercedes) use close to 10 degrees of caster in their front ends without wearing out the tires.

Too much caster will cause the truck to follow the crown. Stiff (new not broken in) ball joints and tie rod ends and U joints (on 4X4's) will prevent the wheel from correcting it self coming out of a turn. Improper Toe setting cause excessive tire wear. Almost every Ram that I have checked has shown to have too much Caster. Have a good alignment shop adjust the caster to the as low a positive caster as you can go this will lessen the fight you have with the crown of the road. Caster causes truck much like that shopping cart at the store to want to roll down hill. the more you have the more it wants to go down hill... Hope this helps.
