I've got 54,000 miles on my stock Michelins and figure I'll need to replace them at around 60,000. I've rotated them regularly and all four of the tires are wearing on the outside. It is even wear across the tread but slopes across so the outside has worn more. I figure I need an alignment but am wondering if I should do it now or wait for the new tires. Do I need to do an alignment with new tires or should I get it done now? And when I do the alignment, should I do a 4 wheel or just the two wheel?

I would wait until you get your new tires but would have a four wheel alignment because it will check the alingment of your rear end to the frt. I have done alignments for years and have seen many pickups with the rear end out of track and it would cause a dog tracking even when the frt end was aligned. The cost is very little more to have a four way and is well worth it. Check your pre-load on your steering box, mine was very loose after 50,000 miles. Lots of wheel play, now after adjusting it i have no play and drives like new again.
