I'm taking the truck in for an alignment because the outside of the passenger side tire is wearing real bad and it pulls to the right. I'm taking the specs that have been posted on this site with me. My question is should I rotate the tires to have good tread up front before or after I go for the alignment? Or does it not make any difference? Thanks for any input.

Scott, if you are under 10K miles or so I would make the dealer replace the tires that are trashed. If not, it won't make a bit of difference when you rotate them. HTH.

ball joints

You sound like another candidate for the adjustable ball joints. That is the only thing that fixed mine, besides a real alignment shop after the dealer installed the ball joints... ... good luck :D  :)

hey guys my truck has the same problem. My question is where can i find info on the adjustable ball joints, where are they to be found and etc. I need help with this. Any answers apprecieated.

adjustable ball joints

Junior, Ingle products makes adjustable ball joints for the Dodge. Can't find the number right now, do a search on ball joints or Ingle ball joints and you should find the info you need. If no luck I now ftb87 has the info. Good luck:cool: :D :)

FYI

Just to follow up a bit, the dealer called and said the tires needed to be rotated in order to get a good alignment. I have 24k miles on the truck and the tires have never been rotated, the right front was pretty worn, I know, shame on me. At least now I don't have to do it myself tomorrow.

Just wanted to post a follow-up on the alignment. Bill Breck Dodge here in Tucson did the alignment. The front end feels good and solid and there is no more pull to the right. I can shave, talk on the phone, drink coffee and read the paper on the way to the office now without wandering into the other lanes, not that I would notice anyway. But seriously, I'm happy with the job, the final specs are similar to those posted on this forum previously but not exactly the same, I could post them if anyone has an interest.

Sad story

 Had 16K miles on a set of tires, (rotated) when all of a sudden I noticed the right front tire worn on the inside. No tread left. This was after having truck aligned twice by the dealer, and adjusting the steering wheel positioned correctly. That was done 2 times. After the 3rd alignment by the dealer, I purchased new tires and asked the tire dealer to check the alignment. Guess what, it was way out. After 5K miles on new tires, everything appears to be correct. However, I will go back and have everything recheck, but not by the dealer.

tire wear

same thing with mine. 14000 on new meats and the right side outside is slick. alignment shop says it is in line but ball joints bad, 3 out of 4. truck has 27000 on it. with all the people seeming to be having the same problem with ball joints dodge needs to do SOMETHING ABOUT IT! of course thats just an opinion. ?!... also one thing to check is i had one of the bolts back out of my right front brake caliper and the other one was loose!! anyone else had this happen?
