First to answer Kats question-No Kat,this was a "Run-Watcha-Brung" dyno roll,,NO ONE was going easy and there were more gassers on giggle gas than the one lone sprayed diesel,,Now before people get their undies in a uproar, there are two things they have to understand here,,1st-This is the first year the Carlisle promotions staff has allowed the diesels to dyno,,In previous years I have been given every excuse in the book as to why we could not spin,,Having played the email tag game since February to make this happen and getting the ok a little late I posted it so we could open their eyes,,They had this diesels, why bother attitude deal and it has now been changed,,2nd-with having our foot in the doors what better example to show them what these little 5. 9's can do,,Jetpilots slick black bottle rocket stepped up to a plate and played in unchartered territory and wowed the crowd into utter disbelief,,I had posted this event here and across the clubs email hoping to get more trucks so if they don't believe the numbers and cry fowl, there is only one way, because they did not see it themselves,,No diesel only spins were done by Doug and we made the statement we wanted,,Now for those who will ask if other diesels dynoed, yes about 6,, About 4 stock trucks,1 done at Jannetty's and a Autowurks truck,,Numbers are not going to be posted as neither of those were TDR members and can not answer for themselves here and it would not be fair to them... .
Numbers were amazing off Dougs run and no one can discredit what he did,,About 200 people witnessed the spins and 2 magazines were on hand shooting it along with ProRams video of the event,,Mopar Muscle did a photo shoot after the run of the truck so we'll see what goes on with that,,Checking the final results today lead to us finding out the winner should get a cover shot on a upcoming issue,,What I wanted to accomplish I did,get our foot in the door and with that I'll offer my personal thanks to Doug for the help and a job well done...
Listen we all go to these events all over and most are TDR based,,Our great magazine we get can only cover so much and has only so much exposure,,One thing I wanted to do was to get a foot in the door so more people can see what we are doing with these trucks and maybe get those of you who do all the extra work another avenue of exposure,,In a long conversation last year with a major Mopar magazine editor he made a comment about diesel pickups not selling magazines beacause people associate them with the "older crowd" and "campers",,I worked hard to convince him that was not so and those magazine people in attendence now have a different view,,Well I'll end with this, great show, great fun had by all, more cars and trucks too see than you could cover and alot of fun too... ... P. S. -In conversation with the Dyno Jet operator this morning one comment he was asked all nite afterwards and even this morning was"What was on fire down there' during Dougs run,,He told us many people who did not see the run were asking and were told about it,,When the slick black bottle rocket arrived on the grounds this morning and parked in the middle of the show field it had quite a crowd around it and the pilot was very professional and answered all questions asked... ...
