Started truck this morning and went maybe a quarter of a mile and all power in the truck went dead including the motor for about a second. Went maybe another 100 yards and same thing happened! I ran the truck for a half an hour running errons and no more problem. It felt like someone had turned the key off and then right on again??? Where do I start checking? Do not need for this truck to go down while out plowing during a snowstorm! Sorry 2003 w/automatic.Frank

How old are the batteries? They can cause strange electrical problems when they start to go. Take off the negative cable from one battery to isolate them and measure the voltage on each to see if they are both the same or almost the same.

You should also check the ground cables for corrosion where they attach. I don't have a 3rd gen anymore and I sold my service manual so these ideas are just from the top of my head.
