Another little problem has poked it's head up through my web of heavy footing. I installed a new plate, and a new transmission... ever since then I enjoy pushing my foot to the floor. Problem is stoping.

When I push my foot to the floor and release it's almost like the pedal doesn't come back all the way and the truck idles higher by about 300-400rpms. When I shut the truck off and turn it back on it doesn't do it anymore.

Now if I'm good to the pedal it doesn't do it anymore. It feels like a kink in the pedal. Could the return spring be worn? Or have I messed up with the plate. It Idles normally, it's just sometimes it doesn't return to normal.

My set of throttle linkage problems started simular to yours. I finally ended up replacing the throttle linkage. My first cable was a exposed twisted wire that frayed, that was problem 1, 2nd was the linkage would stick, bend and cause what you are having. The linkage is the metal rod between the governor and where the cable comes onto the pump.

DieselDunn check the ball end on the throttle linkage. I have encountered rust in the pivots causing the rod not to return to the idle position.
