Man what a show!...

This was the first time I have ever showed at this show and only the second time ever there for it. There was so much to look at you all but couldn't cover it in the days alotted. Radical rides in all catagories made for alot of neat stuff to see,not to mention all the eye candy on Saturday sporting about.

TDR members seen on hand by me were POW-MIA,Dieselfreak2 and myself with our trucks in the field. Mike Harris,Melvin Degrange,Sherry Lundvalls and Pete Orndorff were spotted sneaking around minus their trucks. The biggest dyno number laid on the jet for diesels was Liberator Performance's 2003 Ram,complete with a set of Pier's twins at 508hp. "Little Jetpilot" Brandon had his Jetpilot tuned 01 Ram H/O spin the jet and laid down 475hp. This is a truck that Doug has been helping the youngster with and it did a nice job. Dieselfreak2 hammered the jet Sunday and laid down a respectable 442hp with his Massdiesel tuned ride. Dino also was the unfortunate victim of a mistake by the jet operator Saturday in which the dyno operator turned off his fueling boxes. Backstreet Performance redynoed his truck Sunday and didn't charge him for the rerun as they realized what they did. Sorry for not remembering the torque numbers,my mind was elsewhere.

Show-N-Shine competition for this show was a "Judged" competition with Carlisle management and vendors doing the judging. Dieselfreak2 and myself were the TDR members seen trying this endeavor which was handled smoothly by the show staff. Trucks were classified by model and by the number of modifications, you earned points for each addition you had which then helped classify you. If you overlooked one and the judges caught it while judging you you were disqualified,so remembering what you had was very important. Once classified you were then off to the tent for judging which was tough. Judges looked for cleanliness in all aspects of the body(including door jams)and driveline, overall attention to detail and shine and how clean your interior and bed was kept(oops, this one cost me points as I didn't expect the judge to LIFT my bedliner to check for dirt and paint condition). I ended up classified in 94-2004 Mild and scored a hard earned second place award. The trucks that placed around me were both 2003's with little miles and tons of detail. Dino was placed in 1994-2004 Wild and did not score any iron. This class was really tough as most of the vechilces were not daily drivers and were trailered into the show, plenty of "bling-bling" on those trucks.

In the ''Big Rig'' area there was a huge amount of chrome, stainless, polished aluminum,LED's and train horns. From the mildly customized to the radical most anything you could ever envision was on hand. 2 sets of 12" stacks were seen and ever a set of "spinner" wheels on a righteous looking wrecker from Brookyln,NY. Saturday nite the large cars were playing musical train horns and engine brake barks, one louder than the other.

The only thing that was disturbing was the mini-truck crowd. It amazes me at how disrespectfull some of these owners are. I am amazed that none of them got hurt as they really had alot of owners upset with all their antics.

It was a nice show and those who missed it may want to look into it next year. I enjoyed myself as did those with us. I did shoot some pictures and will try to get them downloaded and post a few later... ... ... ... ... ... Andy

Andy, that was a great write up. I certainly am going to try to plan on this event for next year, along with the Chrysler Nats.

So enlighten us - what where the mini-truckers up to?

Scott

What were the Mini-truckers up too you ask, well I would be alot shorter too list what they didn't do. Couple of easily pointed out deals-alot of underage drunks which led to fights, constant cruising the grounds on Saturday when you were not supposed to(crowd was huge)doing their drag and stir up clouds of dust games. Then Sunday when we all are trying to detail for the parade they were driving in behind us deliberately stirring up dirt and dust. Much more stuff worse, but we won't go into it. Management had numerous complaints about them but did little to keep them in line, until the fights broke out,go figure.

I'll stick a couple of pics up here for you all to see quick. Here is a shot of Dieselfreak 2 on the jet Sunday morning.

Here is a shot of the 4 of us who were together most all weekend long. The Patriot Blue truck is POW-MIA's,mine is next in line, the righteous first gen is Taters a friend of mine and the Forest Green one behind is Brandon's.

Those are some great shots. Too bad about those mini-truckers; I'm sure they're not all bad (some would say the same about us ;) ), but a few bad apples ruin it for the whole bunch. I would think that Carlisle management would crack down on that next year.

By the way, you never posted pics from the Mopar show, or if you did, I missed 'em.
