my 93 d350 gets 21-22 at 60 and 19-20 at 75. wifes 93 d250 gets 17. 5 no mattter what i think the torque convertor may be too loose on hers(searching for a 47rh to put in now). my torque convertor is my left foot

The auto in hers makes a difference. My 93 auto 4x4 gets 17. 5-18 in mixed driving. I could probably get a little better if I behaved...

I'm in asheville and when I hit the interstate with oversized tires I can drop 24, If I keep it under 60. 65-70 puts me in the 19 range. And God forbid If I find an open road with minimal speed limits. Wouldn't even wanna know.

1992, 2wd, 5spd, 3. 54 gears, I have to slow down to 65-68mph to get 21-22mpg. If I speed up to 5 over, 80ish, I drop to 18 pretty quick. Just did the experiment again, driving up/down I-25 to work and a few side trips, but mostly highway, doing 5 under the limit, or 55 whichever was higher. Kinda fun to sit back in the right lane with the big trucks/slower traffic and watch the idiots once in a while, quite entertaining.....

Well Brian, I'm in middle TN and my 2002 HO 2500 NV5600 gets around 23 if I drive 55-60 unloaded on the highway. At 70-75 it drops to around 21. Pulling my pop-up trailer (2200 lb) gets 18 to 19 depending on speed. The computer usually shows about 1. 5 MPG higher than calculated. Maybe my part of TN is flatter than yours...

i seem to average over the road at about 22-23... a bit less in town (about 800 km) and a bit more (950km) on the road per a 95 liter fill... i try to keep it to about 110 km/hr or less on the highway as above this speed the consumption in fuel and oil goes up... i also get about 17 or so full up with my 10 foot camper with a 9600 lb weigh in ... my ride is a stock 91 w250 std cab 5 speed / 3. 54... and only 430000 km on it! cheers d

I just drove from Laughlin, NV. to Castaic, Ca. around 280 plus miles. I set the cruise control at 68 and the overhead read 24. 3 when I pulled into the driveway. I hand calculated my mileage after fill up and it ended up being 22. 8 mpg. Gotta love that CUMMINS.

In my 98. 5 4x4, the most I've ever gotten on one tank of fuel was a hair under 21 mph. That was with the cruise set on just under 80mph, with the ac ON. That was in August when we made the trip from Md to Maine.



The same trip, last week, the first tank I got 20. 5 mpg, same cruise settings, but no AC on. Windows still up though, kinda weird i got better with the AC on.

The only other difference is that on the trip back in August, I had maybe a 1/4 tank of b100 for that first tank.



I get just under 18 mpg daily driving though.

18-19 around town, 20 freeway. Could get better but it isn't the trucks fault! Oo. My right foot gets a tad heavy at times.



Towing 7000 #, anywhere from 10-14 depending on terrain and if I'm in a hurry.

FWIW I get about 20. 6 mpgs at 62 mph..... I have gotten 21. 4 mpgs a few times If i run 55 mph

Looks like the 5 speeds are the ones with the best mileage. . I've been considering going to a nv4500 5 speed conversion. . Are there any guys who have converted from A-518 non lockup to the 47rh lockup auto that can get 20+mpg in a 4wd?... .....

I run about 22 avg best of 24 couple years back for about 6 months. got avg of 19 loaded with all my wife and I own coming from vt to la to az at 13kIbs w/ gooseneck box trailer. could have done better if it was a bit more aerodynamic 9' tall flat wall on front from ground.

I always thought that if you had 4. 10s you'd do 18+/- and 3. 54's were in the 22mpg range. It appears there is a LOT of variation to my theory. I have read that our engine sips the least amount of fuel at 1600 rpm. I guess it all depends on how it's set up.

I would love that kind of milage. I'm getting around 14mpg and use to get around 10 when I first built the truck, but then I started to add howes fuel treatment and mine went up to 14. That's loaded or empty, fast or slow. Talked to Piers today and they said the injectors might need replacing... ... Well if nothing else that would give me more power and thats allways good.

well,I am on my third Dodge with the Cummins,first was a 90,w-250 5 speed,3:54 gears averaged mileage no load was 19-21,towing, about 12-14; 2nd was an 03 2500 4x4 6 speed, 3:73 gears, crew cab, sb , avearage mileage was 17-19 ; now I have a 3500 6 speed, 4:10 gears, swr lb, I am averaging about 16-19 on the highway and 10-12 towing a 14000 lb. load fifth wheel,

It has been my experience with diesels and fuel economy, that what really makes the difference is engine rpm. A look at the cummins fuel flow charts will amplify this. Also I notice a lot of changes in tire size, don't forget that makes your odometer read wrong too if you are using it for the computation. If you would, give RPM when getting these fuel figures.

I averaged just over 21 for 707 miles on my tank (with a quarter tank left) over the weekend and I pulled an empty 2 axle flatbed for 300 miles of that.

I get 17. 5 to 18 driving short trips here in the foothills. Out on the road I get 19 to 21. Once in a while if i take it easy I'll get 22. I have noticed that with a small exhaust housing I get better mileage. Probably because it spools up easier and takes less throttle to get going. Same for smaller compressor wheels. In town I notice I am using more throttle to get going when I swap in the larger top charger.

20 mpg's...

Early this morning combination freeway in rain, streets, and some traffic I got 20. 50mpg. Over the last 7-months calculated average is 20mpg. Highest "freeway only" was 26mpg . I can get 23+on longer highway/freeway trips. I try to keep it at 65mph to just below 70 on the freeways, but I sure like to wind-her-up passing or whatever :-laf

Have a great fuel mileage year, when are they lowering the diesel prices? Oh, after the railroads, and big rig folks pull a strike on 'em-Do it . Where is my union reps phone number? Oo. Patrick.
