Allison in Dodges?

Heard today Dodge may be using Allison trans. in new 2003 trucks. Has anybody else heard this?

Hate to be a nay sayer, and I hope it's not true, but I heard that DC s**t canned the project after two plus years of testing and being ready to release to production.

Heard that from an Allison rep at a show.

I hope they reconsider if it is true. I'm an unhappy camper with my automatic.

I heard the same thing regarding the Allison. I also heard that Cummins might be offering their own transmission coupled with their next generation engine for 2003.

What do we know about the "Cummins Trannie"?

I would guess it is an Allison matched with the electronics on the second generation ISB. Cummins and Allison set the paramenters and have done the work to make them work as a matched set. They are already doing some of that on motorhome chassis. Navistar is doing the same thing with their new line of medium duty trucks.
