Can I get an Allison trans mounted to a CTD? Just saw one on an 01 Furd Powerstroke and he said Allison will and can mount to any engine. Said it had to be special ordered.

get your 47RE rebuilt by one reputable high performance transmission vendor. Cheaper, proven and less headaches IMHO. I went with DTT and couldn't be happier. They are several options out there, do your homework and find what would be best for your application.

Anything can be bolted anything, almost Time and $$$ is the only question. The elctronics of the Allison should be fun to make work with a DOdge.

I agree with Glen 100%, there is no need for switching trannies really, with great companies like DTT, or others. ANYTHING is better then stock. :)

The Allison does things that NO 46, 47 or 48RE will EVER do regardless of transmission gods you choose. Don't discount the Allison, we don't have HALF the possibilities.....

No Allison in the Dodge or Ford as an option, at least not in the one ton and less rated trucks.

When I was at ATS, in Denver, getting my transmission bombed, they had a couple of Allisons in stock. Call 'em.

Personally I am completely happy with my ATS. It's amazing to feel that TripleLok TC lockup, and know it WILL NOT slip, I don't care how much HP & Torque you want to run through it.

My Dad has a 6 speed Allison mounted to his ISB in the motorhome. The computer in the trans talks with the ECM in the ISB and the Exhaust brake. The all work together. That particular trans is way too large for a pickup.

Ford does off a small version behind the powerstroke. It had some initial problems for the 1st year. I think they worked out most of the issue with firmware upgrades.

I know two people who own them and both have really good things to say about the trans.

i just took the allison world transmissoin training class and my teacher said there were about 50 dodges with allison's sitting at the allison plant. dodge withdrew from that idea when chevy stepped in to pour money in for the allision program and dodge didn't want a chevy part in their truck. i guess they are ok but i would prefer a stick shift to automatic. from what i understand, the chevy's use a 1000 series allision. allision jumped the gun to release the world series and have lots of problems out of them that they are slowly getting fixed. i'd like to see a eaton auto shift in a smaller version for in a dodge like's in a class 8 truck.

Mounted in a Dodge/Cummins pickup? If so fill us in. Allison does make a butt loads of models.

Long before the Duramax came out and the Allison option I know you could special order an Allison in a Chevy for heavy duty applications, my friend had a 3/4 ton work truck with one in it back in 93. Just a little FYI
