I'll put the symptoms out here and hope to get some advice.

Started the truck this morning to warm up with no problem. Ran for about 15 minutes before I left for the job site. Now I don't remember exactly when the "check Engine" light came on but as I accelerated away from the house, I could tell she was running poorly. I went about a half mile and decided to return to the house. I pulled the following codes using the "key" method.

0122 APS low voltage

0500 No vehicle speed sensor

1693 companion code.

I saw in an other post for the 0500 code is that the speed sensors are not agreeing on the speed. I do have a problem with the right front sensor that I haven't had time to address. Also, I will be replacing the front pads as I can hear a faint groan when I break.

Anyhelp is appreciated. I'm 150 miles from home without my manual and very limited tools. The closest NAPA or any other auto parts is about 15 miles so I have to make the trips count.

The 0500 can get set by spinning the wheels. I find it quite often. Does not seem like a big deal. I would start buy cleaning all the grounds and the battery terminals. Everything has to be in really good shape regarding the battery terminals and grounds. Put P0122 in the search box and start reading. Do you have the Timbo/Geno's APPS? One thread talks about the adjustment and incorrect instructions for Geno's!

The APPS is original with about 245K miles. I disconnected the grounds, while I pulled the front wheels to check the brakes, in hopes of erasing the codes. When I put everything back together and started up, the check engine light was on. I drove it to the end of the street and back, shut it off and checked for codes again. Only the P1693 came up. The weird thing is, when I turned the key on again, the check engine light went out and she runs fine again. Still have a dull grinding noise when I break so I'm off the pull the back wheels next.

Thanks for your reply Snoking
