My truck was pulling to the right real hard, I changed both calipers and pads. (did not forget to lub slides). The problem seemed to go away, now when the brakes get hot the truck pulls hard to the left, get on the freeway for 5-10 min the truck brakes just fine till they get hot again. ive pulled off the pads and switched them LEFT TO RIGHT did not make a difference. I did notice that the one side was 30-40 degree hotter then the other??... the only thing i havent done is turn the rotors(i tried everything to get them **** things off) any thoughts or ideas????

THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP... IVE LEARNED ALOT IN HERE

If I am not mistaken the rotors should be machined on the truck. Get used to the pulling, try everything you can on the search of the TDR but the results will be less than desirable. I have been there. I still have a couple of ideas left but I dumped my 99 because of no balls, lousy auto and severe brake pull. I could of made DC buy the piece back but I bought it out of state and that disqualified for the UT lemon law, boy was I ****** . DC has NO CURE for the brake pull but they do for a hood latch that no0t one member has complained about. Go figure. I will say my new truck is everything my 99 wasn't.

Have you adjusted the rears? I still insist that this problem is due to the rears not automatically adjusting the way they should.

Every morning when I back out of my driveway, I nail the brakes. No pull in over a year of doing this.

YMMV

ten85echo,

When you say the brakes get hot is that from stopping or just driving?

Adjusting the rears made no diff on my 99. The tighter I adjusted them the worse it made them.

after i noticed the problem i did adjust the rears, this did not seem to make a difference... Joe G the brakes get hot from using them just driving is fine... note the problem is fine after 10-15 min of driving with no braking... I recieved a good e-mail stating I might have a caliper heat problem( the cylinder gets hot expands and sticks) ill look into that i just bought them a week ago they were remanufactured calipers.

This issue has been hashed out a billion times. Do a search and learn to live with it. You will never cure the brake pull for good with what Dodge has to offer. Not MHO but a fact. You will have as good a chance fixing it by faceing the East and chanting your mantra. I'm not trying to be neg just spent alot of hours fighting with DC and never getting a lasting fix.

I would take it back to my DC dealer and keep complaining!!! Ask the service manager what you need to do to initiate a buyback. If you have a good dealer/service manager they want you happy and will give you good guidance.

My dealer got DC to buy my 99 back... The service manager told me "Hey we sell um an fix um, if DC builds them with a problem we cant fix then they (DC) need to make it right". I only wish more dealerships were this good!

Good luck, and dont give up!
