After about $60 and 2 hours worth of work, my lame old 160 pump works awesome. I changed the boost fitting, AFC spring, and slid the stock plate all the way forward... WOW what a difference. Pretty much no smoke either :{ but that will come.

Planning on replacing the plate with a #4 soon, and installing my 4K GSK (still stick Gov springs) soon. Maybe then. Just someone might like to know about the positive experience - much thanks to all who have responded to my posts on the board.

As far as my earlier posts about boost, EGT, etc, I am now making about 25 psi, and I can get to 1200 degrees if I really try to keep my foot in it on a long uphill climb, but usually around 1000 unloaded...

Went to the tractor pulls a few weeks ago, and my rough idle/low rpm concern seemed pretty minor (and not detrimental) compared to the way those guys sounded...

SOunds like a post-turbo EGT T-couple mount.

If it is,, your EGT is probably MUCH higher than you are seeing.

Adjust that AFC a little more, and you'll get a littel more smoke :)

Or,, you could throw drivability out the window, and experiment removing the AFC rod. My AFC rod is in the glove box.

Merrick you'll never learn to play it safe will ya? :p :-laf

Just remove the rackstop in the AFC. That's plenty of smoke!Oo.

Actually, that's pre-turbo. All the locals shun me 'cause I listened to you guys (and TST) about where to mount it...

The AFC is almost all the way forward (5-10 clicks maybe from the front?). Maybe that last few clicks makes the big difference??
