Alternate dimmer switch location?

Maybe an off the wall ?, but was wondering if anybody else had moved or added the floor dimmer switch that most older rigs all had? Never have liked the column mounted ones. Hoping maybe some of the wiring gurus would know if it could be done by a non guru or if it would be a real pain. Thanks for any info, Doug

No kidding, I always get my foot stuck in the steering wheel!
