This kit has an adjustable fuel pressure regulator(no shimming) and comes preassembled, except for the main run of your hoses.

You mean, " They have put lots of time copying other peoples quality kits. " That makes more sense.

Geeze guys you act like Glacier invented the walbro pump and its use on our trucks.....

I am sure this is a good set up too, and another option for us all to consider.

Not really sure where you come up with the copied part. Walbro pumps are available to anyone first of all. The fuel pressure regulator is adjustable with a few turns( no shimming) and was special manufactured for this setup, the return goes in the tank vent( not the filler tube), the mounting hardware is different, and lets face it relay harnesses are all about the same( if you use good hardware, which this kit does). The main thing everyone that changes over to any other pump is really concerned about is the pump, will it last? The walbro is a good pump and this is just another option.

Nobody is arguing whether it is a good system or not, the point is they came out with an almost identical system quite a while after Glacier and the statement "they have put lots of research" doesn't hold water at that point. If it had come out concurrently with,or shortly after the Glacier it would bear scrutiny. Both systems are built from "off the shelf" parts, I seriously doubt anything is custom manufactured for these (with the possible exception of the fuel return fitting in the Glacier, but that is a simple part that can be built in house, or may also be an o. t. s. part), so it comes down to a product loyalty and price issue. The claim that this is a "new product" is not totally true, it may be a new product offering from one particular company, but the basic design is already on the market from another company. I see this alot in my industry, there are a bunch of companies out there that claim their product is totally new, unlike any other out there, and when you remove the cover (if they even have one) you find it is the same design that has been in use for over 20 years, they just use different parts sources (if even that). Present the products as a company's new release, don't make it sound like it is something they invented, unless it is the first to market. If done this way, it does not make undue claims while still not mentioning the other previous offerings, which face it, is good marketing. In alot of cases, comparative advertising actually sells the competitor's product for them because not everyone is going to buy what you are saying.

I will now kindly step off my soap box and apologize if I have offended anyone. :D

I like a free market it cuts down on price gouging and monopolies. If the inventor of a product wants to protect their intelectual rights by all means get a patent. I am gratefull for the abundance of product selection we are exposed to in our application. Think hard before you try to squash anyone who wants to add to the variety of parts we can purchase. I don't hear anyone complaining about Snap-On ,Craftsman, Proto or any other tool manufactures having a similar 1/2 socket. If you don't like it you don't have to buy it.

My 2 cents.

This is a new kit to the market. They have put lots of research into putting together a quality product at an affordable price. It is a Walbro 392 Pump with 3/8" bio compatible line , a fuel pressure regulator, and the fittings to replace everything to the fuel filter. Check them out at http://www.altfuelsolutions.com or http://www.wideopendiesel.com/page8.html
