I would like a differential cover for my 2003 DC, but it looks to me that the Mag Hy-Tek one would just about touch the spare tire and I don't think that would be good. Or maybe it is just my imagination that there would be an interference problem. My spare tire is the LT265/70-R17.

I recently read about a different make cover that was contoured such that it did not hit the spare. Darn, now I can't remember the brand of that cover or even where I read about it.

What do you folks say?

Also, why I am on the subject, with a replacement differential cover that extends a few inches to the rear, such as the Mag Hy-Tek, has anyone had a problem with it hitting a rock or even the ground, and perhaps breaking, when going over rough terrain?

Maybe I am too much of a worry-wart.

Gbraden, I have, pretty much, the same truck, as You. I put the Mag-Hytec cover on with no clearance problems. I have a 115 gal. fuel tank in the bed of the truck with a camper shell on. The fuel tank is full and I just checked and there is about 1" to 1-1/4" clearance. With every thing full and the trailer on I am sitting on the overload springs and still have not touched the cover. I wouldn't worry. Hope this helps. Joe.
