I also posted in the 911. But we are trying to hookup a Neece- Deville 140 amp alternator in my 99 24 valve, and there is a electrical plug in the back of the stock alternator that is 2 wires, one dark blue, and one dark green. I'm wondering if those are 12 volt, and I can just hook them up to the positive (on the new alternator ) or whether they are stepped down in voltage (one is going to the powertrain module) which I believe runs on 4 volts.

There is a stator hookup also on the neece deville alternator (for running tachs, etc. . .

I notice some of you have hooked up some alternative alternators. What did you do with the dark green and dark blue wires that hook up to the plug-in connection on the stock alternator

I don't have my service manuals with me so I can't say for sure what those wires are, but I'll bet they are the field leads. If you change the alternator, you will likely need to install an old style regulator. The ECM may not be happy without field continuity.
