Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Alternator - how long will they last????

Wow, just finished replacing my alternator at 89,000 miles. Wonder if it's because of the cold climate and the grin heaters?

Well I had 375000 on mine when I got the replacement parts to totally rebuild unit. Brushes, brush holders, bearings and rotor. Cost me 75 bucks and a couple of hours. What a bargain. Got the parts as I was scared it would break down on me in the middle of nowhere. Rotor was fine, but had some life left in it... Now I'm ready for another 400,000 miles.

I still have the same starter and alternator at 160,000 and don't see any problems yet. Randy
