This morning on the way to work I noticed my check gauges light was on so I checked the gauges and the voltmeter was low. I plugged in my digital voltmeter from the RV into the cig lighter and it was at 11. 1v. Figured I could make it to work and then charge the batteries for the ride home. Well, I got a few more miles and it was down to 9. 6v. Turned and headed for home. It was down to about 8. 5v and the gauges all went dead and it was really running weird and was shifting really oddly. Made it to the driveway and it died.
So, am I thinking correctly that it is the alternator that is likely the problem? Sure seems like that to me, but it has only 105k miles on it and I've read the alternators seem to go 200k+. The truck has been shifting fairly oddly the past several months so I am wondering if it is the diodes that are out. Can just the diodes be replaced easily or should I go with a rebuilt unit?
Also, how do I tell which model/brand alternator I have? I looked very briefly at it this am before stealing the wifes minivan and heading to work. It has a quick release harness/plug that goes straight into the back.

On edit: Forgot to mention batteries are < 1 year old.
