This weekend I hauled cattle to the mountains , elevation approx. 7500,. I pulled a 20 stock trailer loaded with 6 full grown cows, (that weight about 1500 lbs each,) and seven 100lbs calves. The hill I was going up was steep, I had to drop down into second WOT. I was pulling 22lbs of boost and the pyro hit 1150. outside temp was 34 degrees. My father in laws Dodge was pulling almost exactly the same, Hair lighter, but he has a 4:10 rear end. On same hill he never came out of third, or so he said

Would the gearing make this much of a difference ??? And what plate would help, remember I am in the mountains at 5800 feet, summer temps reach about 98 degrees. By the way his truck is a 97, stock, 5 speed 1 ton dually crewcab and still has the cat. :(

All ideas are welcome !!

The TST #11 worked really well for me. I am not quite as high here in Utah but close. But beware once you get that extra power then you'll want more and more and more. Sometimes it never looks like it will end...

The 11 plate is awsome! Gut out the cat and plug the wastegate - don't need that up here! The PDR turbo is terrific and so is the 14 housing up here! Craig

Thanks

Thanks for the replys !! Schomer, How hard do you pull ? I am South of you a couple of hours. How warm do you get it ??

BFaoro, to answer your question "Yes, gearing will make a big difference". Like you, I have 3. 54 gears. 4. 10s are like having another quarter motor available to use. There are times when the 4. 10s are great, like in that situation, but the rest of the time the 3. 54 work (IMHO) just fine. 4. 10s have "BIG" huevos but the mileage and top end isn't as good as 3. 54s. Enjoy and may the "CTD" force be with you.

Bfaoro, my water temp will get about 200(stat fully opened) on Eisenhower(summer), egt held at 1250, 65mph with my RV. I can work it real hard! I think it will dyno about 300 now. Last time at Castle Rock last fall it did 283/714. I turned up the fuel a little more since - I could barely hit 1225 then. Craig
