I've got a toolbox, bedrails, tailgate cover etc. made of aluminum diamond plate.

These Nebraska winters with the salt and sand have taken their toll and they no longer have that mirror shine to them.

What can I use to clean and protect them?

Any type of "spray on" cleaners designed especially for polished diamond plate? It cant be too harsh... I dont want the acid washed look.

HAVE JUST THE THING FOR YA

THIS KIT MAKES IT LOOK LIKE NEW

NO LIE

ITS AMAZING

ROUGH SURFACE POLISHING KIT

For hard to polish, irregular surfaces.

Also works on polished smooth surfacesHow to do it right, the lazy man's way:

Start by washing and drying the aluminum you want to polish.

Spray with the Aluminum Polishing Prep to chemically remove stains and oxidation.

Apply the Magic Mix Metal Polish using one of the wool Magic Mix Polishing Pads, working in all directions until all the aluminum is a uniform black. Let the polish dry to a light gray, then wrap a soft cloth over a clean pad and buff to a high shine. Easier on knuckles

Follows contours

Produce a superior polish job with less time and effort

DM,

Saw your post about the kit this morning and ordered it right then. Have tried several different polishes but was not happy with them so I thought I'd give this a try. Have ordered stuff from Scheid before and they carry good products. :)

I agree on the Magic Mix. I just bought the polish, and it works great... . very little effort required. I've tried most all of them... Mother's, Maguiers, etc. They all worked, but with a lot more effort/time. Used on my Weld wheels and SS tip.

Ian... . I've also tried Flitz. Unremarkable for me.

When you guys get the stuff and use it POST BACK WHAT YOU THINK PLEASE.

I didnt make it to sheids last year . . but a friend did and returned with all kinds of stuff... He is a ditch digger so his truck is aways a work truck. REAL BAD ALL OVER CLAY PACKED in between the bed and cab I mean BAd... . lol Anyway he pulled up to the house and was telling me about SDX and all the little booths and stuff ... I then asked him if thats where he got the tool box... . he said what tool box ??? The new one in your bed ... . HE LAUGHED and said NO thats my old box but I did get this @ SDX and he show'd me the Magic Mix ..... when he wasnt looking I nabed it and did one of my rims ... warning dont get the cleaner in your eyes it burns real bad ... ( I GUESS I SHOULD SAY WE HAD A BIT OF BEER >>>LOL ) anyway it looked awesome and even tho I was half lit I had to do the other 3 to keep my truck from looking like a goon.

The best part of this cleaner is not the fact that it gets it looking like new... ITS the fact that it KEEPS IT LOOKING LIKE NEW ,,, it will repel water for a little bit and then when dirt does gather you hose it off and BAM brand new again ... . if you want to prolong the effect dont use the foaming wheel cleaner when the over spray gets on the rims it attracks everything reguardless if you have them polished or not if you do use the TIRE WET OR FOAMING STUFF COVER YOUR RIMS WITH SOMETHING ... ... GENOS now has a rim cover for this reason.

DM,

I got the Magic Mix and finally got to use it on the aluminim diaomond plate tool box. The box had heavy water spotting and regular polish did not remove the spots. I used the magic mix and it really works! The water spotswere removed and the wax put a prety good shine on the box. I will need to repeat the wax to get a little more shine but overall I'm real happy with the kit. Was easy to use.
