My steel floor jack has been around about 25 years and I swear it keeps getting heavier every time I use it. I'm looking for a lightweight aluminum one as the regular use jack on the truck and use the old steel one on the occasion that I need to use two jacks.

Anyone out there using an aluminum floor jack on their lifted truck that they're happy with? I'd like to keep the price $400 or hopefully less and it needs to have enough reach to lift a truck with 37" tires. At least a 3 ton capacity.

There are tons of options out there, I'm just looking for the guy that says "I've used brand xyz for years and it works beautifully".

Subscribed.
My old Lincoln is starting to bypass under the front. I was in Harbor Freight looking at their 3 tonners. The jury is out.

I have a hybrid one from Costco. Aluminum where it can be, and steel where it needs to be.

I’m on my 2nd one. I bent the first one, but that was my fault.

Very happy with it. It works for all my floor jack needs between the truck and TT/5th wheel.

Not aluminum but I have had 2 of the yellow three ton jacks from harbor freight and have been quite impressed. I work on mostly big trucks and have lifted more than they should be and held up. No experience with aluminum.

I use a 3 ton all aluminum floor jack from HF to lift either the front or back of my truck. No problems for many years.

Of course I always ALSO use totally overkill safety stands (3 ton per), pinned style from Snap On before I get under the truck.

Heres the jack I use--

I have the same. Haven't used it a lot but when I have it has been flawless. It doesn't leak like all my Craftsman's did so that's a plus.

I have been thinking of getting one of these to haul in the back of my truck. My brother hauls one in the back of his truck. I used to laugh at him but after what I have been through with flats this Fall I stopped laughing. The Hi-Lift jack is too scary! Are there any other options for off-road use?

Airbags, but it's hard to find a decent quality. Almost everything seems to be cheap China crap.

Good Airbag means inflated with a compressor, not from the exhaust - thats the cheap ones.
And also a thick fabric, not Walmart shopping bags.

ARB makes a nice one. Can be inflated by exhaust or compressor.

Here is the one I got at Costco.

GrantP - did you ever get a jack? If so, what? Are you happy with it?

Not yet. The backstory is that my wife wanted to know what I wanted for my birthday. My birthday hasn't happened yet, pretty sure the Harbor Freight one in previous posts is on the way.

Just got a HF jack for Christmas. So far very happy it’s so light compared to the old steel one I have. If it holds up as well as the sawsall I got from them I will be very happy.

Only thing I have ever bought from HF was a yellow US Made GY air hose. Mostly Chicom CHITZ, NO thanks.

Not sure how that relates to the topic of aluminum floor jack? Or are you saying you know of someone with a specific aluminum jack that was made in China and didn't work well.

The thing with HF is you have to know what is junk and what isn't. I had 2 Craftsman jacks a 2 ton and a 3. Both leaked from the day I bought them. I have the 3 ton HF and it has worked flawlessly.
