I recently built a aluminum airbox that draws from the Cowl and from under the hood. at first it was just through the cowl but the sucking noise was worse than a truck stop and I was affraid of drawing water through it with the high amount of vaccum created in the cowl area. so I slotted it out on the side facing the fender. it not only brought the temps down another 30F but killed that horrible sound through the cowl.
I can now run 75mph @600F with 60F ambient temp
It is running a K&N RE0860 12"L and cost $37. 00+ 3 hours of my labor to weld and fit it to the truck. so far i am pleased with it and have recieved several emails about it so i thouth i would introduce it to the whole board at once, here.
to see some pictures of it goto. http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=1617619&a=12349404
