I recently built a aluminum airbox that draws from the Cowl and from under the hood. at first it was just through the cowl but the sucking noise was worse than a truck stop and I was affraid of drawing water through it with the high amount of vaccum created in the cowl area. so I slotted it out on the side facing the fender. it not only brought the temps down another 30F but killed that horrible sound through the cowl.

I can now run 75mph @600F with 60F ambient temp

It is running a K&N RE0860 12"L and cost $37. 00+ 3 hours of my labor to weld and fit it to the truck. so far i am pleased with it and have recieved several emails about it so i thouth i would introduce it to the whole board at once, here.

to see some pictures of it goto. http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=1617619&a=12349404

Pretty nice, but I have one question... Why the 0860 filter? It has a 3" inlet, whereas the 0880 has a 4". I was going to go with the 0860 on my old truck, but then stumbled across the 0880 was back in '98. When I found that filter, I emailed my friend Scott, who had devleoped the Scotty Air System. He realized too that the 0880 would open things up better with a 4" inlet. Just wondering why you are using the 3" filter with the 4. 5" hose and turbo inlet?

well i can say this about the re0880 alone its worth at least 10hp on the dyno vs the stock airbox with the factory filter .

toddt , is that price for your latest mod with tube to fender inlet ? you can email me if you would like as i know that price posting is a pee pee slapping offence .

Evan, the RE0860 is the same demensions as a 0880 but 2"s shorter in length(12"L). it has the same inlet size 4". the reason I went with it was the RE0880 was $20 dollars more, thats $10 an inch... #ad

currently I'm working on one that instead of slots has a tube that goes to the stock inlet hole on the fender. I'll keep you all posted.
