The boost thing makes no sense. Judging by the EGT temps, I'd say yes. And wow do the pickups run hotter than the Chassis cabs. Mine won't hit 1200* pulling 30K uphill, regen or not.
My gage set are Pricol Optix. EGT is 0-1600 F. Sensor is drilled centered in exhaust manifold. I see numbers over 1200 when under load. Normally not at 1200 with no load.
I am running the same gages that you are and I have installed my probe in the same location. My truck with the EGR plugged in will run between 1000F and 1350F when in regen. I have seen 1350F when pulling my 5er up hill in SD last summer but never higher then 1350F. I have since unplugged the EGR and when I regen mine will be 200F lower in Temp. My boost will always be around 3 to 5 PSI when I am in regen. When I was pulling uphill and regening I was around 10 to 15 PSI boost pressure.
I would check your boost gage or were you located your pick-up. You should always show some boost pressure when the truck is running at 60 MPH. Just my $0. 02
