Please help me out if you will. If nothing else take a look at your truck and see if it's the same as what I'm about to describe.
We returned home today from the first trip towing the travel trailer. I'm still doing break in so we just took the trailer for a "ride". Everything went just great, but upon returning home and checking everything out under the hood, I noticed a great deal of what appeared to be chalky looking water spotting on the passenger (exhaust side) of the motor. It was all over the right side of the valve cover, but especially on the exhaust manifold and heat shield. There was also some on the firewall and under the hood. All fluids were normal, plus this just appeared to be water spots. Got to looking and found that the air conditioning drip tube just extends from the firewall about an inch through the front of the foil insulation on the passenger side. Apparently got there by running into a headwind or maybe the fan slung the A/C drippage all over my clean motor! I ran the A/C while sitting in the drive and the water was pretty steady coming out of the hose on this humid day.
My question is are they all like this or am I missing a "down tube". It would be an easy fix to get a plastic or brass right angle barb fitting and about a foot of the appropriate sized hose to fix this right. Shouldn't have to on something that costs this much. I just don't like the mess I found today on my pristine Cummins! Sorry for the long post guys, I tried searching with no results. Please check yours and let me know.
