Am I using the right oil for my situation? Amsoil 15W-40

You can see my truck in my sig. I tow a 4K trailer 3 days a week, stopping at about 10 houses each of those days. I am not asking if Amsoil is better than Royal Purple or any other brand, I am just asking if Amsoil Synthetic 12 TBN 15W-40 sounds like what I should be using during warmer weather. This is what my local diesel shop guy has me filling up with currently. And yes, it is engine oil, not transmission or diff. Thanks!

I use it in my 02 w/ good results. You might try the Amsoil website for more info or ask Amsoil.

I use it in the warm months for the last 230k and no problems at all.

It is what I use also. Wonder would it hurt anything to go with the 5w in the winter. Don't really see much of a winter here but on occassion it does get real chilly at the deer lease.

Cummins Northwest in Anchorage said they run 15-40 all year round up there. I say up "there" because I am currently in transition to New Mexico. I ran 15-40 for the last two years even durring the winter. I was able to plug the truck in for the morning starts though.
