It seems like my radio is getting more and more static on AM the last few years . I also hear a weired pulsating squeeking noise when i have the radio on a weaker AM station . Now my truck is a 96 so as far as i know i have all mechanical pumps but it sure sounds like a piston pump working . Any one else notice either of these things happening . Arnie

I would check all your radio connections to make sure they are tight. I don't know how the antenna is grounded, but I had a car a few years back with a grounding strap on the antenna. The screw in the grounding strap would loosen, and cause a major increase in static. Good luck :D

try unpluging any cell phone chargers mine makes my am all messed up. Also the xm radio power supply needs to be unplugged on my truck or am is crap.

Never did find out what the weird noise was . My radio decided to crap out a few months ago . Im wonderring if trying to start the truck with very low batteries would damage the radio . The truck wouldnt start with low batteries so i didnt run it that day and charged the batteries up ,tested them and it sat for three weeks before i drove it again. Thats when i noticed the radio wasnt working . Arnie
